Andy Gomez, known in capoeira as Instrutor Grande, is from Annandale, Virginia. He graduated with a degree in Music Education from Loyola University in New Orleans. It was there he found capoeira and started training under Mestre Cocada twelve years ago. Since then, Instrutor Grande has demonstrated dedication to the art of capoeira. He has traveled several times to Brazil and attended various events around the U.S.A. Though he knows that to be a capoeirista is to be a student for life, he feels fortunate that he has been sharing his passion with adults and kids alike for the last few years in New Orleans, San Diego, and Brasil. He looks forward now to building a thriving capoeira community right here in Conejo Valley.
